Head Coach: Daryl McKeever (Rutgers '82) 3rd Season
Daryl McKeever is in his third season as head cross country/track coach at Holy Family University.

A 1982 graduate of Rutgers with a degree in psychology, he was the head cross country and track coach at Germantown Friends School. In his 21 years as head coach at Germantown Friends, McKeever team’s won number numerous conference and state championships in addition to winning several relay championships at the prestigious Penn Relays.

While at Rutgers, McKeever ran 400-meter and the 400-meter hurdles in which he was a four-year letter winner for the Scarlet Knights in both outdoor and indoor track.

“My college experience helps me coach our athletes by knowing the demands to be successful as college athletes. It helps me to explain to our athletes what discipline and dedication it takes to be successful at this sport,” McKeever noted.

In his last two years, McKeever coached the CACC Newcomer of the Year in Melissa Hale and also coached Holy Family’s first All-CACC All-Conference selection in Andrew Phillips. In the last two years, aside from Phillips and Hale, McKeever also coached Lawrence Berner to an all conference selection as a freshman.

Also, McKeever has overseen the start of Holy Family’s track and field program which became the school’s 12th varsity sport in 2007.

“The majority of cross country athletes have been natural track people during their high school careers, and they need the chance to excel in that sport as well,” McKeever added about the addition of track and field.

“It is also helping to attract other skilled athletes such as jumpers and throwers to our school.”

McKeever served as a long-time educator and administrator for several private schools in the Philadelphia area. That education background allows McKeever to help athletes balance their talent both on the field and in the classroom.
