About Holy Family University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
The purpose of Holy Family University’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to provide insight into the student-athlete experience, and to provide a forum for student-athletes to present their issues and concerns and communicate ideas, suggestions feedback, etc. to the athletics administration. The athletics department strongly encourages student-athletes to get to know the SAAC representatives on your team and to bring issues and concerns relevant to your student-athlete experience to your SAAC representatives. The other goals of SAAC are the following:
- To serve as the liaison between the student-athletes and the athletics administration
- Communicate and disseminate information to student-athletes concerning athletic department events and other campus-related matters
- Organize and participate in community engagement and community service activities
- Engage in fund-raising for worthy causes, most notably Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization that grants the wishes of children with serious medical conditions. Make-A-Wish Foundation is the NCAA Division II National fund-raiser.
- Discuss proposed NCAA rules and regulation that will impact student-athletes and provide both positive and negative feedback
- Foster a positive image among student-athletes to the campus and local community
Holy Family’s SAAC is composed of student-athlete representatives from each sport. At least two (2) representatives from each sport are required to be on the committee. Membership in SAAC is a commitment. Dedication, active participation and attendance at meetings are necessary to maintain membership.
Meetings are held throughout the academic year and the dates, times and location will be posted shortly. Visit this site to find out about SAAC events and activities throughout the year.
