Holy Family University Indoor Track Takes Part in Collegeville Classic (1/23/2009) COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Holy Family University men’s and women’s indoor track team competed in the Collegeville Classic hosted by Ursinus College on Friday night. Latifah Porter (fr. Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia High School for Girls) led the Tigers effort on the women’s side with a second place finish in the 200-meter dash after posting a time of 26.79. She also competed in the 800-meter run and picked up an 11th place after crossing the line in 2:36.12. June Cain (so. Philadelphia, Pa./Martin L. King) recorded finished the 400-meter dash in seventh place with a time of 1:03.67. Cain added a 16th place finish in the 200-meter run after an effort of 28.31. Ashley Loughlin (so. Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert’s) picked up a ninth place finish in the high jump with a height of 1.42 meters (4’6”). On the men’s side, Mike Grubbey (so. Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) had a 12th place finish in the 400-meter dash with a mark of 53.11. Rasheed Gilmore (jr. Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg) posted a time of 6.85 in the 55-meter dash to end up in 19th. Holy Family travels to Allentown, Pa. to take part in the Mulhenberg Invitational on Friday, January 30 at 3 p.m. |
