Carr Named ECAC Division II Women’s Basketball All-Star First Team (4/3/2009)
CAPE COD, Mass. – Holy Family University forward Catherine Carr (so. Bernardsville, N.J,/Bernards) was selected to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Women’s Basketball All-Star first team on Friday.

Carr is an ECAC All-Star for the second consecutive season. As a freshman, she was tabbed for the second team and the ECAC rookie of the year. Carr is the only sophomore to be named an ECAC All-Star this year.

This season, she averaged 15.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Carr also added 69 assists, 29 steals and 15 blocked shots. In the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), she finished eighth in scoring and 11th in assist/turnover ratio (1.08).

Carr was also named All-America honorable mention and All-East Region by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and Daktronics Division II All-East Region. She also received CACC player of the year and first team honors.

Holy Family went 26-6 this season. The Tigers reached the second round of the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament.
