Holy Family University Outdoor Track Competes at Widener Invitational (4/18/2009)
CHESTER, Pa. – The Holy Family University men’s and women’s outdoor track teams took part in the Widener Invitational, hosted by Widener University, on Saturday.

Latifah Porter (fr. Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia High School for Girls) led the women’s effort by coming in seventh place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.47. Teammate June Cain (so. Philadelphia, Pa./Martin L. King) was right on Porter’s heels in ninth place by posting a mark of 1:00.97. Porter also had a 16th place finish by running the 200-meter dash in 26.44.

Ashley Loughlin (so. Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert’s) came in seventh place in the high jump with a height of 1.45 meters (4’ 9”).

On the men’s side, Fred Tuwei (so. Nairobi, Kenya/Kaptel) won his heat in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:17.20. He was 23th overall.

Holy Family will next compete at the Penn Relays on Friday, April 24.
