Holy Family University Women’s Basketball Announces Its 2009-2010 Schedule (7/2/2009) PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – First year head coach Mark Miller has announced the Holy Family University women’s basketball team’s 2009-2010 schedule on Thursday. The slate features 27 games, including 19 contests against the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). Holy Family will take on a tough non-conference schedule with its other eight contests. The Tigers opponents posted a combined winning percentage of .590 (141-98). Half of the non-conference opponents qualified for the 2009 NCAA Championship Tournament. The Tigers open the schedule with a road contest at Bentley, a NCAA Tournament team from last season, on Sunday, November 15. Holy Family’s home-opener will come on Saturday, November 21 against the University of New Haven. The month of November ends with road games at Kutztown (Nov. 24) and C.W. Post (Nov. 28). Holy Family opens the month of December with its CACC opener at home against Felician on the fifth. The schedule has the Tigers at home for four straight games when the team will face Goldey-Beacom (Dec. 10), Georgian Court (Dec. 12), American International (Dec. 13) and Millersville (Dec. 21). American International and Millersville both qualified for the NCAA Tournament. December ends with Holy Family traveling to Southern Connecticut on the 30th. The 2010 portion of the schedule opens with Holy Family hosting the College of St. Rose, another NCAA Tournament team, on January 3. The Tigers final 15 games will be against the CACC. Holy Family visits the 2008-2009 CACC champion Philadelphia on January 21. Two days later, the Tigers travel to Concordia (N.Y.), the newest team to join the conference. Holy Family has four home games in the month of February. The first three home games will be against Philadelphia (Feb. 11), Post (Feb. 13) and Wilmington (Del.) (Feb. 18). The team’s final road game is February 20 at Nyack. Holy Family closes out the regular season with a home contest against the University of the Sciences on February 23. Last season, Holy Family finished with a 26-6 overall record. The Tigers reached the second round of the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament.
