Livingston Selected as Head Coach of the Holy Family University Women’s Softball Team (7/8/2009)
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Holy Family University director of athletics Sandra Michael is pleased to announce that Erin Livingston has been named the head coach of the women’s softball team on Wednesday. Livingston becomes the fourth head coach in the program’s history.

“When Erin was interviewed, it was obvious that her future is in coaching,” said Michael. “Her knowledge, her desire, and her passion for softball separated her from the rest of the candidates.”

Holy Family will be Livingston’s first collegiate head coaching post. She spent the 2009 season as an assistant coach at Division III Kean University. The Cougars went 19-21 overall and qualified for the New Jersey Athletic Conference and Eastern College Athletic Conference post-season tournaments. Her first collegiate position came in 2005 when she was an assistant at Philadelphia University. That year, the Rams were 17-26.

Livingston was a four-year starter as a second baseman and designated player for Kutztown University from 2001 until 2005. She recorded a career batting average on .263 with 126 hits, including 39 doubles and six home runs, and 90 runs batted in.

She was also a two-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association First Team All-American for the Golden Bears in 2004 and 2005.

Livingston was tabbed as a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete in all four of her years at Kutztown. In 2005, she was tabbed as the Kutztown University Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Livingston was a recipient of the NCAA Completion Scholarship in the fall of 2005.

“Erin shares my philosophy to build upon the winning tradition associated with our team and to elevate the skill level of our recruited student athletes,” stated Michael. “I'm looking forward to witnessing Erin as she leads our softball team deep into post-season competition.”

Livingston has a B.S.Ed. in elementary education from Kutztown and a M.A. in counselor education from Kean University (May 2009).
