Chestnut Hill College Rallies Back to Defeat Holy Family University Women’s Soccer, 2-1 in Overtime (9/29/2009)
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Midfielder Amanda Botbyl scored just 54 seconds into overtime to give Chestnut Hill College a 2-1 win over the Holy Family University women’s soccer team on Tuesday afternoon at Tiger Field.

Chestnut Hill goes to 8-4-0 overall and 5-2-0 in the CACC. Holy Family is now 5-5-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play. The loss also snaps the Tigers winning streak at four.

Trailing 1-0, midfielder Alyssa Radetich tied the score with 3:05 remaining in regulation in a free-kick situation. Midfielder Tara Morey fed Radetich the ball from 20 yards away and Radetich was able to score in a crowd in front on the net.

Holy Family took the lead at the 11:11 mark of the first half. Midfielder Jill Shank (jr. Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) received a through ball from back Lindsay Fisher (so. Oakford, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and ran in alone on a breakaway down the center of the field. It was her first goal of the season.

In goal, Chestnut Hill’s Jessica Veazey stopped six shots. Holy Family’s Michelle Giambrone (sr. Barrington, N.J./Seneca) recorded four saves. She stopped a penalty kick with 17:05 that, at the time, kept the Tigers in front. The Tigers out-shot the Griffins, 21-15.

Holy Family returns to the field on Saturday, October 3 at Post University at 1 p.m.
