Holy Family University Women’s Volleyball Falls In Five To Wilmington (Del.) University (10/20/2009)
NEW CASTLE, Del. – Wilmington (Del.) University fought back from 2-1 down to defeat the Holy Family University women’s volleyball team, 3-2 (23-25, 25-15, 16-25, 25-21, 15-4), in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Tuesday night at Pratt Gymnasium.

Holy Family is now 11-18 overall and 8-6 in CACC play. Wilmington improves to 10-12 overall and 6-7 in the conference.

Outside hitter Jill Keeve (so. La Grange, Ill./Lyons Twp.) paced Holy Family with a match-high 15 kills and 10 digs. Outside hitter Aly Keihl (so. Pewaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) added 12 kills and nine digs. Outside hitter Katie Hornback (so. Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) contributed 11 kills and 11 digs. Setter Aimee Drabyn (jr. Avon, Ind./Avon) added a match-high 42 assists along with 12 digs. Defensively, libero Jordan Beland (so. Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) had a match-high 25 digs, while setter Mackenzie Bickes (fr. Orchard Park, Mich./Mercy) added 16 digs.

For Wilimington, outside hitters Meghan Frick and Paige Norvell were the offensive leaders with eight kills each. Norvell added 11 digs, while Frick recorded 10. Setter Shannon Rumple pitched in with 29 assists and 12 digs. Libero Brittany O’Neill was the defensive leader with 23 digs.

Holy Family returns home to host Post University in a CACC battle on Saturday, October 24 at noon.
