Holy Family University Women’s Volleyball Hangs On to Defeat Post, 3-2 (10/24/2009)
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Holy Family University women’s volleyball team jumped to a 2-0 lead and hung on the defeat Post, 3-2 (25-23, 25-22, 19-25, 14-25, 15-7), in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Saturday at the Campus Center.

Holy Family improves its record to 12-18 overall and 9-6 in CACC play. Post is now 8-19 overall and 8-7 against the conference.

Outside hitters Katie Hornback (so. Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) and Aly Keihl (so. Pewaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) paced the Tigers offense with 13 kills each. Hornback also had eight digs and five block assists. Outside hitter Jill Keeve (so. La Grange, Ill./Lyons Twp.) recorded nine kills and nine digs. Setter Aimee Drabyn (jr. Avon, Ind./Avon) added a double-double with 36 assists and 10 digs. Libero Jordan Beland (so. Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) was the defensive leader with 26 digs, while setter Mackenzie Bickes (fr. Orchard Park, Mich./Mercy) had 10.

Holy Family recorded 12 blocks (three solo, 18 assists) and hit .116 (49-29-172) as a team.

For Post, outside hitter Aubrey Latham led the way with 20 digs and a match-high 17 kills. Outside hitter Teresea Hodges recorded a team-high 22 digs and 14 kills. Outside hitter Elizabeth Knight recorded 13 kills. Setter Taylor Doyle added a match-best 42 assists. Libero Kelly Hayes had 21 kills.

Holy Family is off until Thursday, October 29 when it visits Philadelphia University in a CACC match at 7 p.m.
