Three Tigers Named to All-CACC Men’s Soccer Team (10/28/2009) PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Holy Family University landed three players on the 2009 All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men’s soccer team that was released on Wednesday. The voting was conducted by the conference head coaches. Forward Tim Weglicki (so. Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) was tabbed as a first team selection. Fellow forward Seydou Ba (jr. Mauritania/John Bartram) was named to the second team. Midfielder Jason Lopez (jr. Columbia/Father Judge) was an honorable mention pick. Weglicki, the 2008 CACC rookie of the year, is an All-CACC pick for the second straight season. This year, he is second on the Tigers with seven goals and 18 points. Two of his seven goals are game-winning goals. He is currently tied for third with seven assists. In the CACC, Weglicki ranks seventh in points and ninth in goals and assists. In his first season with Holy Family, Ba is leading the way with 10 goals and 23 points. He is also tied with Weglicki for the most game-winning goals (two). He is sitting fourth in the conference in goals and sixth in points. Lopez is third on the team in goals (six), assists (four) and points (16). He recorded the game-winning goal against Goldey-Beacom. Holy Family is currently 10-5-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the CACC. The team will host Caldwell in the regular season finale on Saturday, October 31 at 1:30 p.m. |
