Holy Family University Women’s Volleyball Falls in Three to Philadelphia (10/29/2009)
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Holy Family University women’s volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss (21-25, 23-25, 14-25) loss to host Philadelphia University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Thursday night at the Gallagher Center.

Outside hitter Katie Hornback (so. Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) led the Holy Family offense with a season-high 17 kills. She also recorded eight digs. Outside hitter Jill Keeve (so. La Grange, Ill./Lyons Twp.) added six kills and five digs. Setter Aimee Drabyn (jr. Avon, Ind./Avon) recorded a match-high 26 assists. Libero Jordan Beland (so. Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) had a match-best 14 digs to lead the defense. Setter Mackenzie Bickes (fr. Orchard Park, Mich./Mercy) pitched in with nine digs.

Middle hitter Cindy Adams paced the Rams with 10 digs and seven kills. Outside hitters Nicole Berkstresser and Ellie Edgar recorded six kills and block assists a piece. Outside hitter Danielle Carney contributed five kills. Setter Lauren Hoover had 12 assists, while setter Natalie Stigura recorded eight.

Holy Family is now 12-19 overall and 9-7 in the CACC. Philadelphia improves to 26-5 overall and 14-2 against the conference.

Holy Family will look to get back on track with a road CACC match-up against Nyack on Saturday, October 31 at 1 p.m.
