Holy Family University Women’s Volleyball Falls to Nyack, 3-2 (10/31/2009)
NYACK, N.Y. – The Holy Family University women’s volleyball team lost to host Nyack College, 3-2 (25-21. 22-25, 25-24, 12-25, 8-15) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Saturday at Bowman Gym.

Holy Family (12-20, 9-8 CACC) was led by outside hitter Katie Hornback (so. Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) who recorded 11 kills and 11 digs. Outside hitters Aly Keihl (so. Pewaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Jill Keeve (so. La Grange, Ill./Lyons Twp.) and middle hitter Brittany La Couture (jr. Ringwood, N.J./DePaul Catholic) all added six kills a piece. Setter Aimee Drabyn (jr. Avon, Ind./Avon) recorded 24 assists, seven digs and five service aces. Libero Jordan Beland (so. Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) recorded 21 digs.

For Nyack (10-9, 9-8 CACC), middle hitter Brianne Cercone had a match-high 17 kills. Outside hitter Megan Metcalf added eight kills and 11 digs. Setter Amelia Moore contributed 19 assists and 13 digs. Fellow setter Brooke Foyer had 12 assists and eight digs. Defensive specialists Paia Thor and Colleen Weidman recorded 15 and 14 digs, respectively.

Holy Family will play its final home game of the regular season on Tuesday, November 3 against the University of the Sciences at 7 p.m.
