Women's Soccer advances to CACC Finals with 4-1 win over Wilmington (11/3/2005)
RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Holy Family’s Brianne Redelheim (Jr./Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert’s) had two assists, while four different players scored for Holy Family (12-7-2) as the Tigers defeated Wilmington (Del.) (8-10-1) 4-1 in the semi-finals of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women’s soccer playoffs Thursday afternoon at Tryon Field.

With the win, Holy Family will take on Goldey-Beacom on Saturday, who upset Caldwell 1-0 in the day’s opening game. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.

Holy Family started the scoring at 52:41 when Colleen Gregory (Sr./Warminster, PA/Archbishop Wood) scored on an assist from Theresa Cirino (Jr./Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) for a 1-0 Holy Family lead.

The Tigers, who entered the tournament as the top seed, iced the game at 74:15 on a header by Calli Nagle (Fr./Philadelphia, PA/Little Flower) off a corner kick from Redelheim. Holy Family tacked on more at 84:33 when Jen Hamill (So./Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert’s) scored on assists by Nagle and Redelheim. Redelheim booted a corner kick to Nagle, who quickly passed it to Hamill for the goal.

Ashley Smith (Fr./Philadelphia, PA/Little Flower) scored on a free kick at 87:14 for the final goal of the game for Holy Family. Colby Bugda scored on a penalty kick at 88:38 for Wilmington’s lone goal.

Kristy Cusick (Sr./Philadelphia, PA/George Washington) made five saves in the win. She was a first-team All-CACC selection as was Redelheim.

Catie Joynes had 13 saves for Wilmington in the loss.
