Cross County opens season at Delaware Valley Invitational (9/3/2006) DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Holy Family Cross Country teams opened the 2006 season braving the rain at the Delaware Valley College Cross Country Invitational. For the men’s team, the Tigers placed ninth out of 13 teams, while the women placed ninth out of 15 teams. Melissa Hale (Jr./Buffalo, NY/John F. Kennedy) finished ninth for the Tigers with a time of 26:42.88. Crystal Davis (Fr./Forestville, MD/Central) took 46th in her first collegiate meet with a time of 29:29.97. Other finishers for the Tigers included: Debbie McGrogan (So./Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert’s) (47th, 29:37.22); Akiliah Clark (Fr./Temple Hills, MD/Central) (74th, 31:42.56); Morgan Rodgers (Sr./Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown) (82nd, 32:16.45) and Christina Canatore (Fr./Galloway, NJ/Abesgami) (87th, 32:28.59). For the men, John McFadden (Fr./Bensalem, PA/Father Judge) took top honors finishing 36th with a time of 32:43.55. Wayne Hefner (Sr./Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) was 38th with a time of 32:43.55 and Lawrence Berner (So./Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) finished 42nd with a time of 33:18.76. Other finishers for Holy Family included: Mike Fine (Sr./Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) (44th, 33:42.59) and Chris Drissel (Sr./Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) (76th, 37:43.44). Holy Family travels to Lebanon Valley on Saturday. |
