Holy Family University Golf Takes First in Quad Match (4/9/2008) Philadelphia, Pa. -- The Holy Family University men's golf team defeated Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponenets, Philadelphia, Caldwell and Chestnut Hill in a quad match at the par 70 Torresdale-Frankford Country Club on Wednesday in Philadelphia, The Tigers posted a winning score of 334 to get past second place Caldwell by eight strokes. Philadelphia came in third place with a team score of 379. Chestnut Hill rounded out the event with a score of 401. Holy Family's Jon Radick (so. Richboro, Pa./Council Rock S.) led the overall competition with a score of 74. Ed Szambelak (sr. Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast Catholic) was two strokes back (76) of Radick to take second. Matt Deckert (sr. Pennsauken, N.J./Pennsauken) rounded out the top three with a round of 80. Steve Grotkowski (sr. Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) completed the Tiger lineup with a 104 for a 15th place finish. Philadelphia's P.J. O'Brien (82) and Caldwell's John DePeri (83) close out the event's top five. Holy Family hosts a quad match against Cabrini, Swarthmore and Philadelphia Bible on Friday, April 11 at 1 p.m. |
