Head Coach: Alfred L. Johnson, Jr.
(Elizabeth City University ’94) 2nd Season
Alfred Johnson will be entering his 2nd season as the Head Coach
of the Tigers men’s basketball program. Coach Johnson, a native
of Philadelphia, is a brilliant recruiter who is looking forward
to placing his stamp on the program as a NCAA Division II institution.
Johnson vast experiences as a high school head coach, (Germantown
Friends School ’85-90), assistant coach, (Manor Junior College ’90-91),
(Elizabeth City State University ‘91-95), (Alabama State ‘95-96),
(Tennessee State ’96-97), (Tuskegee University ’97-99) and a Division
III Head Coach (St. Mary’s College of Maryland ’99-2003) has enabled
him to develop a system that players enjoy playing in. At the high
school level, Johnson has produced the Germantown Friends all-time
number one and two leading scorers and the school’s first McDonald’s
Team All-American. As Division III head coach, Johnson coached numerous
players that ranked among the school’s leading scorers, a conference
player of the year, two-time conference rebounding leader a school’s
first All-American as a NCAA member.
Coach Johnson resides in North Brunswick, NJ with his wife Meredith,
and has two sons, Timothy and Tyreek.
