Outlook 2004-2005
The Holy Family University Cross Country program
will enter a new era as newly appointed Head Coach Daryl McKeever
looks to lead the Tigers to the top of the Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference. McKeever comes to Holy Family from Germantown Friends
School where he was the cross country and track and field coach.
McKeever will be responsible for both the men’s and women’s programs
at Holy Family.
The men’s team looks to be much improved with many of last year’s
top performers returning along with the addition of a few talented
newcomers. Heading the list of returnees is sophomore Chris Drissel
(Philadelphia, PA / Father Judge) and senior Jim Palladino (Philadelphia,
PA / Bishop McDevitt). Last season, Drissel finished very strong
in the conference championship and it looking to push for conference
honors this season. “Chris has a tremendous work ethic and should
be one of the stronger runners in the conference” McKeever said.
Newcomers to the men’s squad include Joe Garstka (Philadelphia,
PA / Roman Catholic), Andrew Philips (Holbrook, NY / Sachem), and
Greg Oswald (Philadelphia, PA / Father Judge). Philips was a former
runner at the University of Maryland and should do very well in
the conference this season. “Andrew should have an excellent season
this year and should emerge as one of the top runners in the conference”
commented Coach McKeeever.
The men’s team will open the 2004 season when they compete in the
Delaware Valley College Invitational on Saturday, September 4, 2004.
