Tigers Fight but Come Up on
Losing End
-By Ryan White, 1/17/2004
On Saturday, our Holy Family University Tigers hosted the New Jersey
Institute of Technology Highlanders. The stands were filled, the players were
ready and you could just feel the tension between these two teams.
The Tigers came out flying and controlled most of the first half
and finishing the first 20 minutes with a 40-32 lead. Leading the team was
Junior Forward Bob Presner who recorded a double-double with 21 points and 11
rebounds. Senior Guard Mike Wild finished with a very respectable 18 points.
Sophomore Guard Chris Kozole made a few excellent plays and helped keep the
Tigers in the game.
Unfortunately, things did not stay so positive for the Tigers in
the second half. The HIghlanders took control, erasing the eight point
halftime lead fairly quickly and added 47 second half points. The Tigers put up a
valiant effort but the Highlanders eventually sqyueaked by with a 79-71 win.
