Haigh named ECAC and CACC Player of the Week

02/25/2004

Sophomore guard Ryan Haigh from Philadelphia, PA, was named both ECAC and CACC Player of the Week for the week ending February 22, 2004. For the week, Ryan shot 61% from the floor, and an eye popping 74% from behind the three point line, including a career best 9 three pointers made on Saturday versus Felician College. Ryan also averaged 4 rebounds and 4 assists for the week.

Ryan is having a career month for February. Ryan is shooting 54% from the floor, and 55% from behind the arc, in six games this month, including a career high 30 point performance versus Bloomfield College. In those six games Ryan has averaged 26.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. For the year, Ryan is averaging 17.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists.

More important than Ryan's personal success is the success of the Tigers. The Tigers have won 4 straight games to climb back into the thick of the playoffs. Currently the Tigers are tied for the 8th and final playoff spot, but could move up as far as 6th place. The Tigers face Dominican College on the road in a crucial game on Tuesday February 24. Then the Tigers travel to Wilmington College on Saturday February 28 for their final regular season game.
