Holy Family Wins Opener
-By Jeffrey Kruczynski, 11/21/2003
The Tigers started the season on a good
note as they defeated Southern Virginia University 78-63.
Holy Family had a 14-point lead at halftime (39-25) and never
looked back. Sophomore Ryan Haigh led the team with 27 points
and shot 7 of 11 from the three-point line. Senior Michael
Wild scored 16 points and had 6 steals. Christopher Kozole
did an excellent job of running the team as he dished out
7 assists and had 5 steals. Robert Presner (Junior) and Stephen
Szychulski (Senior) did a phenomenal job off the bench. Robert
had 12 points, 7 rebounds, and one block, while Stephen contributed
10 points. Overall, the Tigers shot a mind-boggling 50 percent
(12-24) from the three-point line as a team. Congratulations
to Alfred Johnson, who won his first game as Holy Family's
head coach.
