Hawaii 12/21/2003 - Hey Philadelphia, It is Saturday
night at 9:00 P.M. in Hawaii and we are winding down on our
trip! What an unbelievable week! We were in 85-90 degree weather,
we won a championship and we had the time of our lives. Waikiki
Beach, The North Shore, Ohauna Bay on a snorkeling trip, Pearl
Harbor,a Luau on the beach of the Pacific Ocean, PERFECT Weather
and a great end to the 1st half of our season. We are coming
into the new year with a 7-1 record with some great wins against
some great competition and we are really looking forward to
getting into our conference schedule when we return and play
Teikyo Post on January 6th. We are getting back to practice
on the 29th of December and are planning on having a memorable
year. Kate Baun and Nina Smith were named to the All Tournament
Team, but anyone who played could have received that honor,
we had two great games! Well Aloha (Hello) from Hawaii and
Mahalo (Thank You) for all of your support! Rumor is we are
coming back here next year!!!!!!!
Hawaii 12/19/2003 - Aloha everyone, today was quite
a day! We won our FIRST championship, beating West Virignia
Weslyn 78-58. We played a hard, competitive game and it was
a great end to this tournament. So now the vacation begins!!!
We started it off tonight with an authentic Hawaiin-style
luau. We enjoyed great entertainment by amazing dancers and
a delicious Hawaiian buffet. Tomorrow morning some of the
team will be going to see Pearl Harbor while others spend
the day on the beautiful beaches of Honolulu. On Saturday
we are probably traveling over to the North Shore, one of
the most popular spots in Hawaii. There we'll do things like
snorkeling and surfing (uhh-ohhh)! Sunday we'll be getting
our things together and do some last minute shopping and tanning
before we start the LONG flight home. We'll be back in Philadelphia
way too early Monday morning. We'll get some pictures up on
the site when we are back at Holy Family. This is our last
entry, and since we have a couple weeks 'til our next game,
we are wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday!!!
Hawaii 12/18/2003 - Aloha Philadelphia, Sorry we have
not been in touch but our hotel is not updated with the Internet.
However we arrived safe and sound on Monday. It was a very
long day with an 13 hour flight. On Tuesday we practiced outside
in 85 degree weather, with the sun beaming on us. We are seconds
away from Waikiki Beach. We have been all over the island
and its only been a couple days. Its absolutely gorgeous.
Our hotel is at a great location, it is like we are on Rodeo
Drive in Beverly Hills with all the shops here. We played
our first game today against Wingate from North Carolina.
It was one of our best games of the year. The team is finally
coming together. We won by 36 and really needed all our fans
because their fans were brutal. Everyone played great and
had a lot of fun. We are all looking forward to playing tomorrow.
We play at 12 o'clock western time against West Virginia Wesleyan,
who beat Florida Gulf Coast today 85-83. We are looking to
win our first of three championships. We will be thinking
of all of you at home after we win and are relaxing on the
beach. We will be in touch. P.S. We are doing our best trying
to post pictures!
Hawaii 12/14/2003 - Hi, it's Jamie and Ashley and it
is the night before we leave for our big trip to Hawaii. We
just came off a big road victory over Georgian Court to get
us ready for Hawaii. Everyone is looking forward to the good
competition and the warm weather. We are leaving Monday morning
at 7:15, east coast time and we should be arriving in Hawaii
around 2:30 west coast time. We have a long day ahead of us,
so we better get some rest. We will be keeping in touch daily
from Hawaii so keep checking the website! Wish us luck!
