HEAD COACH: Joanna Pennell (Holy Family '02) 2nd Season
Joanna Pennell will be entering her second season at the helm of
the Tigers volleyball program. A native of Wilmington, DE, Pennell
excelled in volleyball and basketball during her high school years.
Pennell chose basketball as the sport she participated in college
where she played at American University and the University of Hartford
before settling in at Holy Family. In her two years at Holy Family,
Pennell helped the women's basketball team reach the NAIA Elite
8 and led the nation in assists her senior year.
Pennell's coaching style is one that expects 150% from her players
at all times and leaving everything on the court. Pennell's squads
have been known for their defensive tenacity. Conditioning and basic
fundamentals have always been central to her team's successes.
In addition to her volleyball coaching responsibilities, Pennell
is also an Assistant Athletic Director / Senior Women's Administrator
(SWA) at Holy Family and is responsible for strength and conditioning
programs for athletes and the fitness center operations. She resides
in Philadelphia.
