The Light Weigh Program Offered
Do you hate diet food and weigh-ins? Would you like to eat just what you enjoy ... in moderation? Are you interested in a Catholic, spiritual approach to weight management?

From the Light Weigh website(http://www.lightweigh.com): "The Light Weigh is a 12 week Video Series - Bible Study where you will learn a new approach to eating and to prayer. Light Weigh members learn to eat the foods they enjoy in moderation. By following The Light Weigh, you will learn to attain peace with food by imitating the example of Jesus and the spirituality of two of His devoted followers: St. Ignatius of Loyola and St. Therese, the Little Flower."

We encourage you to celebrate spring by participating in the ACS’s annual event, Daffodil Days. From 3/26 to 28, daffodils will be sold in the NE Phila campus cafeteria & in the ETC lobby during lunch time and at the front desk at Newtown during regular business hours. At just $3 dollars for a bunch of 5 flowers, your purchase will support cancer research, education, and transportation services for cancer patients and their families. Woodhaven employees/faculty who would like to purchase flowers are asked to email Johanna Fletcher (jfletcher@holyfamily.edu) in advance to order. By purchasing a bouquet you’ll brighten your day, a friend’s day, or a loved one’s day, but most importantly you’ll help bring the ACS closer to finding a cure.

The ACS strives to prevent cancer through comprehensive School Health Education initiatives, a school based Nutrition program called Generation Fit, and the Great American Smokeout. Science has proven that early detection of cancer is key to survival, so to help save lives the ACS has also developed programs to teach adults about the importance of screenings for cancer.
