James E. Trusdell, MBA, will join Holy Family University on November 25, 2013 as Vice President for Finance and Administration.
- Student Exhibit on Display in Art Gallery (11/13/2013)
Holy Family University’s Art Gallery presents artwork by students John Alexanian and Corey McDonough. The exhibit runs from November 12—25, with an artist reception scheduled for Tuesday, November 19, from 7—9 pm.
- Recent Grad Wins Study Abroad Scholarship (11/13/2013)
Recent Holy Family University graduate Gerald Wutkowski was awarded a scholarship from the Kosciuszko Foundation’s Year Abroad Program and is spending a year abroad in Poland at the Center of Polish Language and Culture in the World at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow. The scholarship includes acceptance to the program, a tuition waiver, and a Ministry stipend of 1,350 zloty per month for housing and living expenses. Additional funding of $900 per semester is also awarded by the Kosciuszko Foundation.
- Holy Family University Launches Most Affordable Second Degree Nursing Program in Philadelphia Area (11/5/2013)
Holy Family University will launch the most affordable second degree BSN program in the Philadelphia area in January 2014. This full-time, 14-month program will cost $29,000 from start to finish and is designed for a person with a bachelor’s degree who would like to change careers and enter nursing.
- Holy Family University Graduate Student Creates Key Materials for Grace Kelly Exhibit (11/5/2013)
Cynthia Scott, graduate student in education at Holy Family University and art educator, has completed a seminal project about Grace Kelly at The James A. Michener Art Museum, located in Bucks County PA. The upcoming exhibit, From Philadelphia to Monaco: GRACE KELLY- Beyond the Icon, follows the life and career of the legendary actress and princess, displaying letters, photographs, awards, clothing, and other artifacts.
- Speaker Series Returns with Lecture on Women and the Civil War (11/4/2013)
The Holy Family University-Glen Foerd on the Delaware History Speaker Series continues on Friday, November 15, at 7 pm, when Dr. Judith Giesberg, PhD, discusses Women and the US Civil War in the University’s Education & Technology Center (ETC). The event is free and open to the public.
- School of Nursing to Run Mass Simulation with Local Police and Fire Departments (10/23/2013)
Holy Family University’s School of Nursing and Allied Health Professions will join forces with Lower Makefield Police Department, the Yardley-Makefield Fire Company, the Langhorne-Middleton Fire Company (Hazardous Materials Trailer), and the Newton Emergency Services Department to run a mass casualty simulation drill on the Holy Family University-Newtown campus on October 25 at 9:00 am.
- Professor Explores Dichotomy of Kardashian Legacy in American Pop Culture (10/23/2013)
Reality TV researcher and analyst, Amanda Scheiner McClain, PhD, is the author of the book Keeping Up the Kardashian Brand: Celebrity, Materialism, and Sexuality (2013, Lexington Books), which analyzes how the Kardashians are a paradigm of new and traditional media convergence, highlighting the confluence of branding, commerce, celebrity, and sexuality. The book will be released October 25, 2013.
