Holy Family Students First to Exhibit at Independence Visitors Center
Holy Family art students will be the first to showcase their work in new exhibit space at the Independence Visitor Center located at 6th & Market streets across from the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. The exhibit is set to open on Friday, February 5, with an opening reception from 5-7 pm.
The exhibit will exclusively show several works by Holy Family art students within 20 feet of marvelous display space located in the Visitor Center’s Internet cafe. The exhibit will feature oil-on-canvas paintings ranging from realistic to abstract, reflecting the diversity of expression the University Art Department promotes in students.
“The students were excited to show their art in such a prominent venue,” Professor of Art Pamela Flynn said. “We are looking forward to a continued relationship with the Independence Visitor Center in order to give our students’ artwork much more visibility and to beautify the Center with local art.”
The Independence Visitor Center provides event and attraction information about the City of Philadelphia, Independence National Historical Park, and the surrounding region. It is open daily except on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
