University Signs Agreement with Montgomery County CC (2/17/2011)
Holy Family and Montgomery County Community College have signed an agreement that will allow eligible students to seamlessly transfer into the University’s Fire Science and Public Safety Administration program.

The two institutions celebrated the new agreement with an official ceremony on the Montgomery County Community College campus in Blue Bell on Thursday. Academic leaders from both institutions signed the dual admission agreement bringing the partnership into effect.

The dual admission agreement makes college a more accommodating and cost-effective choice for students. Through the plan, a student who majors in fire science and emergency management and planning at MCCC may fill out a special application form declaring intent to transfer into Holy Family’s School of Business Administration as a Fire Science and Public Safety Administration major.

When the student completes an MCCC associate degree and meets Holy Family’s admissions criteria, that student may transfer into the University’s Fire Science and Public Safety Administration Program at junior status.

“We are very pleased to enter into the dual admission agreement with Montgomery County Community College,” said Jan W. Duggar, Ph.D., Holy Family’s Dean of the School of Business Administration. “This agreement will facilitate the transition from associate degree to bachelor’s degree at Holy Family University. The Holy Family University Fire Science and Safety Administration Program continues a student’s progress toward a leadership and supervisory role in government and private industry. We are very proud of our graduates and the outstanding leadership and service they provide.”

Holy Family University has similar agreements with Bucks County Community College, Burlington County Community College, Community College of Philadelphia, and other two-year institutions.
